What is Smoothbeam?

Smoothbeam is a noninvasive treatment that uses a patented LASRTM  (laser assisted skin renewal) process that targets and heats collagen in the upper dermis stimulating new collagen formation to rejuvenate the appearance of skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  It is also very effectively used in the treatment of acne and acne scarring.

Who is a good candidate for Smoothbeam?

Smoothbeam is good for improving the appearance of your skin.  Areas such as the eyes and mouth that exhibit the early signs of aging with fine lines and wrinkles respond very well to this treatment.

What is the Smoothbeam treatment like?

Smoothbeam unique Dynamic Cooling Device (DCDTM ) protects the surface of the skin with a cool burst followed by a mild snapping or tingling sensation.  Topical numbing anesthetics can be used prior to treatment for added comfort.

Depending on the area being treated and the degree of aggressiveness you and your doctor decide on, treatments can last from 10-30 minutes.  Multiple treatments are recommended and the number and interval between each treatment will be determined by you and your doctor.

Patients can expect a low risk of side effects.  In some more aggressive treatment sessions, you may have some temporary swelling or reddening of the skin.  In some cases, patients may experience pigment changes in the skin color.  If this does occur, the skin will typically return to normal pigmentation over time.

In most cases, patients can return to normal activity immediately after the treatment making Smoothbeam and excellent treatment option for facial rejuvenation.

What can I expect after my Smoothbeam treatment?

Patients are advised to avoid sun exposure for 4-6 weeks after each treatment.  Avoid harsh or abrasive cleansers and rubbing treated ares in the first few days after each treatment.

Results will develop in the weeks and months following treatment.  Individual results will vary depending on the area being treated and the amount of improvement you will see should be discussed with your doctor.
